So the 30 Day Challenge has come to an end. While it is another assignment that I am happy has been completed, I am semi-disappointed to see this challenge end. It gave me a legitimate excuse to take time out of my day and go look for the perfect picture opportunity. To be honest, there were some days that I didn't take a picture, but I am ending this challenge with a total of 30 pictures, some of which I really like and am proud of. If I were to complete this challenge again, I would want to, first, make sure I take the right amount of time each day to really get a quality picture, and two, I would want to look at different tips to taking better and more creative photos. I did take some photos that I like, but after looking back over the photos I took during this challenge, I noticed that a lot of them have similarities. I tried to find different things to take pictures of and using different angles, but it was a little difficult later in the challenge to take these creative photos. I am glad that we did this 30 day challenge. It allowed for me to do something that wasn't in my normal routine and end up with something that I am really proud to call mine.
So, we are a little over 20 days into the challenge, and to be honest, I got a little behind on my picture-a-day. But, I am caught up now and committed to finishing the challenge as I had intended to. These past 10 days were a little more challenging than the past, just because I am really challenging myself to steer away from the obvious subjects, and I am expecting these last 10 days to be even a little more challenging. After looking back on the pictures that I have taken so far, there are definitely some that I am really proud of and pleased with how they turned out. Hopefully I end up with even more of those by the end of the challenge.
So far, the 30 day challenge is going well and I am not having any difficulty doing it. I am expecting it to become a little challenging later on in the month as I try to find different things to take pictures of. I have hit the basics so far -- flowers, my dog -- typical topics of photography. I thought that this challenge would be something that would be kind of annoying to do, and that it would be easy to forget about. However, I am actually really enjoying looking for creative angles and eye-catching photo opportunities. I am hoping that throughout this challenge I take some pictures that I am proud of.
Recently in our Journalism class, we watched a TED Talk video from Matt Cutts who shared about completing a 30 day challenge in order to experience new things, in addition to possibly starting or breaking a habit. I wanted to choose something that I would enjoy doing and have something at the end of the process to look back on. So, for my 30 day challenge, I have decided to take a photo of something new every day. I really love photography, but with my extremely busy schedule I just haven't had the chance to take time out of my day and take some pictures. Now that I am committing to this challenge, I am hoping to capture some special moments and to be able to look at the world around me in a different way. I am expecting it to become a little difficult each day to find something new to take a picture of. I want to have a variety of photos with different topics at the end of the challenge rather than all of them being of flowers or my dog. At the end of the 30 days, I want to be able to have at least a few photos that I am really proud of and I hope to see a difference in quality in the different photos that I take. photo gallery |
